Volume 1

We meet Rand al’Thor and his friends Matrim Cauthon and Perrin Aybara on the eve of Bel Tine, a spring festival in the humble village of Emond’s Field. Moiraine Damodred and Lan Mandragoran are amongst several strangers visiting the Two Rivers. She is a powerful Aes Sedai posing as a student of history. Lan is a bodyguard and warrior, magically bonded to Moiraine as her Warder.

After monsters attack the night before the festival, the boys flee their homes with Moiraine, Lan, a traveling gleeman, and Egwene al’Vere (the mayor’s daughter, who hopes to become an Aes Sedai one day).

The end of this volume leaves the odd group on the road to Baerlon, pursued by a Halfman, Trollocs, and a Draghkar. As they run for their lives, the youngsters are taught what they must know to survive in a dangerous world.

Volume 1 has the first 8 comic books published by Dynamite Entertainment. It includes an adaptation of the Ravens prologue, previously unique to Starscape’s From the Two Rivers publication.

Volume 2

Rand, Perrin, Mat, and Egwene take sanctuary from the chasing Shadowspawn in Baerlon. Moiraine takes the mayor’s daughter, who has discovered she has the gift of magic, under her wing. Lan tells the boys not to trust anyone, and they wonder if that distrust should extend to the Aes Sedai and her Warder.

Volume 2 has 6 issues of the comic books published by Dynamite Entertainment.

Volume 3

After escaping the ancient, dead city of Shadar Logoth and the evil mist called Mashadar, the group is split in three. Perrin and Egwene are on their own after a disastrous river crossing but meet a mysterious stranger who claims Perrin has a rare gift. Rand, Mat, and Thom find safer passage on the river, boarding a cargo ship where the boys pretend to be the gleeman’s apprentices.

Volume 3 has issues 13 to 18 of the comic books published by Dynamite Entertainment.

Volume 4

The separated groups aim to reach Caemlyn as quickly as possible. Perrin and Egwene are with Elyas and his wolf companions. The young blacksmith is anxious to discover he can also understand the wolves and is earnest to know more.

Rand and Mat reach Whitebridge with Thom Merrilin but have no time to grieve when the gleeman appears to die while defending them. They play for their supper and beds on the road to Caemlyn, running in fear from Darkfriends and worse.

Moiraine starts teaching a reluctant Nynaeve al’Meara about the One Power, challenging the Wisdom’s worldview. Meanwhile, Darkfriends have the three groups under surveillance, and the roads to a reunion are all dangerous.

Volume 4 has issues 19 to 24 of the comic books published by Dynamite Entertainment.

Volume 5

Lan, Moiraine, and Nynaeve launch a rescue mission when they find Perrin and Egwene have been captured by Whitecloaks. Reunited, however, the larger group attracts more attention.

Rand and Mat are lucky to be alive after their encounters with Darkfriends, but they make it to Caemlyn and find new friends. Unfortunately for Rand, he falls into the Royal Gardens, is seized by Palace Guards, and has to explain himself to the Queen of Andor.

Volume 5 has issues 25 to 30 of the comic books published by Dynamite Entertainment.

Volume 6

Released on 25 July 2023

The group reunites in Caemlyn, and their journey to find the Eye of the World is approaching its epic climax. To get there, an Ogier guides them through the Ways, a creation of the One Power that bends time and space. As a gift from male channelers after the Breaking of the World, the Ways are now haunted by the soul-stealing menace of Machin Shin.

They believe they are safe when they find the Eye, where the Green Man resides as its protector, but two of the dreaded Forsaken are waiting for them there. These evil servants are poised to attack and bring the party to Ba’alzamon, the dark lord who has been hunting them down.

Volume 6 has the final 5 issues of the comic books published by Dynamite Entertainment.
